We pray that you are having a wonderful Advent and preparing for the coming of Christ.
Tomorrow night is our dance! It starts at 7 pm at St. Basil’s hall. We have sold almost 30 tickets already and are expecting a great turn out and a lot of fun. You can buy a ticket at the door for $7 so if you have not yet gotten your ticket you are still more than welcome to come.
We are now in the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy declared by Pope Francis and a good way to celebrate the year is by practicing the corporal and spiritual works of mercy. One of the corporal works of mercy is clothing the naked and we have decided to have a clothing drive for Streets Alive in January! We have contacted Streets Alive and they usually have a break in donations during January and are in need of clothing (especially men’s coats) so we decided it would be a good time to have one. They will be happy to take anything we are able to give (women’s, men’s, children’s, baby’s), anywhere from shoes, to winter clothes to socks or anything else you are able to give. So, please when you go home this Christmas, if you have something laying around that you don’t use consider brining it back for the clothing drive! Or when you are out Christmas shopping or shopping the sales, consider buying a little extra to donate.
Additionally, there are two Masses tomorrow to celebrate the feast day of Our Lady of Guadalupe. At 10 am at Assumption church and then at 1 pm at St. Martha’s there is a bilingual (spanish/english) Mass. All are welcome.
God bless you and Merry Christmas!
